Origin of LalKitab
It is believed to be written in the 19th century. It is believed the original writer of the book is anonymous, but Pandit Roop Chand Joshi of Punjab who authored the presently available version from 1939 to 1952 is regarded as a master of this science. Ravana is also considered as the author of this book but when he lost his powers due to arrogance he lost the possession of Lalkitab.
On what is LalKitab based
It is based on astro-palmistry i.e. it is a part of two different arts palmistry and astrology. The lalkitab or the red book has a red cover with red colors are considered good in Hindu mythology, it is considered as the color of Goddess Lakshmi and God Ganesh. Lalkitab introduced a new concept of horoscope analysis with quick and affordable remedies which are deprived of expensive remedies like puja and wearing of gemstones, generally recommended by other branches of Vedic astrology.
